Emma's Baptism

Emma... I can't believe we have and 8 year old! We are so proud of her for making the decision to be baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She said that day... "Mom, I feel so good". It was one of those priceless moments. Glenn was a super Dad getting everything ready for the day. He made a beautiful program for the baptism. He made wonderful food for a family gathering we had after at our home. Many friends and family members came to support Emma on this special day.

ADAM'S WEDDING!

Adam and Lexia were married in the Manhattan, NY Temple. It was a CRAZY couple of days! It was fun though! We were only there for 2 1/2 days but it was packed full of fun including seeing the Broadway show WICKED! We are so glad to have Lexia as part of our family again.

Adam and Scott both brought girls home for Thanksgiving. We love them both...

good thing because Adam just got married and Scott will be married in 2 weeks!

It was nice to have the boys home as usual.

It was my 30th Nutcracker this year. I had a lot of fun and reminisced about the "good ol' days". I was very thankful that my family could be there to watch the show - Glenn, Dad & Emma were in it & Mom kind of had to be there - I guess what I'm saying is I'm glad Em, Ad & Scott were there... Karilynne & Lex too.

We had a party at Church which was fun. Emma and Patrick were very surprised when they saw each other... what "nerds" - Hehe...

We brought Emma Trick o Treating for real this year. We went with some friends from Church. They brought us to a neighborhood that was TOTALLY packed! Glenn just kept saying - "this is incredible!". I think Emma had a super time.

Grandmama - She's 83!

Olive Garden was the restaurant of choice. They gave her a cake and boy was it delicious... chocolate with cream cheese frosting. We also had a party at home.

We're glad she made it to 83 - we love Grandmama.

Back to Summertime - FAMILY VACATION

VACATION = Phish Food

I ate 3 of these in 5 days. That's not quite my record but my stomach told me it was enough.

The first night at our vacation house Emma put together a show. She cast it and choreographed it. She and Adam wrote a song about the family. Each person had a half of a verse. It was very funny. Papa's verse was - "Papa teaches me to dance and he's funny like ants in your pants". Cute things like that. Scott and Glenn did a ballet dance which I will not put a picture of on the blog. It was HYSTERICAL!!! Emma really has a talent for getting people to do what she asks... in a good way. The show was seriously good. Of course, she does have a some talented folks to work with... how hard could it be?!

Grandmama and Erin came up for a day. Grandmama loves to play cards. Watch out if you're not her partner though. She always wins! Forget about winning if she and Em are partners!

Jan video taping a throwing contest. We all took turns being thrown. Emily being thrown was one of the funniest things that you've ever seen EVER! We watched it in slow motions 100 times! It is SOOOO funny! As soon as I figure out how to get video on here that will go on 1st.

Last Day of Vacation

Aunt Tina let us use her pool. Boy - we had a great time. Everything is a competition with siblings, right? Well this was SUPER entertaining! Adam and Scott must have jumped into the pool 100 times! Emmy, Emma and I did too but we did not have the AMAZING technical skill that the boys had... HAHAHA!

Glenn and I picked the apples when Mom wasn't home... climbing trees is not the greatest idea for the Nutcracker Prince. We got the job done though and it was well worth it!

I wish I could capture the real color on film. It is one of the coolest colors EVER! AND the jelly is so tasty! Especially on homemade bread.

Cumberland Fair - Always in September

It was a beautiful night. We started out eating dinner. We all get our usual. I get cream of broccoli soup - Mom always gets ribbon fries - wicked good! Dad gets a ton of nasty stuff. HA! One of the highlights of the evening was bungie jumping. Emmy, Emma and I got in a harness and jumped and jumped up and down. Emmy did a backflip. Then, of course, I had to try. It took me about 10 tries before I got it. It was really fun but my arms were sooooo sore for 3 days after - Emmy's too. We finished the night with the family picture and usual fried dough... so good - yet so bad! YUMMY!

General Conference Brunch

Every April & October we have church on TV. It's broadcast from Salt Lake City and the leaders of the Church speak to us. There are 5 sessions. For the Sunday morning session we go over to Nana's and Papa's house. Glenn makes bagels and we have hot cider or some juice or tea. We watch a little of the Music and the Spoken Word prior to conference which is a Mormon Tabernacle Choir program that is on every Sunday morning. The Quinn family came over to watch both Sunday session with us. Emma had fun playing with Kira. We love Conference time. It's such an uplifting and inspiring weekend.

Glenn's Stent

We had a little bit of a scare a couple weeks ago. Glenn was having chest pain while he was dancing. Long story short he had a 95% blockage in on of his arteries. He had a stent put in and all is well. This is him before the procedure.

Nutcracker Auditions

Emma's 1st Nutcracker Audition... she was a bit nervous and asked everyday for a week and 1/2 if she got a part. We kept saying "well, probably" or "I hope so" etc... We're so bad.

She received an e-mail inviting her to be a Page in the 2nd Act. The Pages bring treats for Clara. Congratulations Emma! So glad you got in. Hehehe.

I finally realized that I'm not bloggin' anytime soon. I haven't given up I'm just taking a break. I hope to do a little on vacation at the end of August. I thought I'd just put a couple pictures up real quick. First off - Mom got a new dog and his name is Lucky AND he is ALWAYS muddy! And the next picture is a of Emma and I at the Dance Recital in May. I think we're pretty cute... hehehe.

It was soooo hot for a couple of days - no really - it was in the high 80's! Emma decided to have a lemonade stand. Business was booming that day. I was working outside for a long time and I really appreciated the lemonade... and it was a GREAT price!

She said "you can pay whatever you want... a quarter, a nickel, 1 penny... anything"
Grandmama, of course, paid top dollar.

Glenn received his Wood Badge Award last night. It is one of the highest awards you can get in Scouting. We are proud of him for putting so much time in - not only doing the work to earn his "ticket" but also working tireless hours with the Young Men in the Church and in Scouting.

We start in full speed ahead in May. I don't think we're stopping until after Nutcracker! This weekend is a performance at Merrill to benefit the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital. It's a great thing to be a part of. Then next week is Stake Conference which is not too bad but I'm in charge of the Choir. Then we have crazy picture week and then recital. Emma is going to be so cute! She has a Ballet AND Tap dance. Anyway - had to get that out. Oh yeah- we have a Musical Theater Performance for kids Glenn, my Dad and I have been teaching all year. That's the weekend before recital... hehehe - Aaaahhhhh! At least it's been really nice weather (relatively speaking of course). The flowers are comin' up too. Happy Mother's Day to all my Mommy friends.

New York here we come!

Emma was sooooo excited!

She had been looking forward to this trip since Christmas.

She told all of us her plan for "when we get up in the dark". The plan was to have "my slippers right next to the bed, put them on right when I get up, go potty, and get right in the car".

She must of told us that 150 times.

She didn't fall asleep until about 1/2 way through Massachusetts. She was just WAY too excited! For our soft and easy listening we listened to the Children's Songbook Primary songs. We listened to 3 of the 5 CD's. There was really no traffic or snow so that made it very nice. The rest stops were a hit when there was McD's for Emma & Starbuck's hot chocolate for Nana.

Emma saved up $16 to take to FAO Schwartz. She looked over the whole store and decided on these 2 little Calico Critters and a bag of rocks... $8 each. She and Emily picked out rocks for at least 20 minutes. Emma is and has been a great shopper since she was 3. She looks at everything, figures out what she wants and then narrows it down. This time she checked the price tags too. Nana surprised her with a small stuffed Dalmatian as well.

AAAAAAHHHH!!!!

Is this enough presents?

Santa brought Emma's #1 wish... a SKATEBOARD! She also got Polly Pockets, Disney DDR, a camera, some more Fisher Price Little People and 1,000,000 other things. The most exciting presents were from Nana and Papa - Tickets to see The Little Mermaid in NEW YORK CITY! BROADWAY HERE WE COME! We (Glenn and Janet) got tickets to the School of American Ballet's 75th Anniversary Performance. We've never seen the Ballet at Lincoln Center. We're so excited because Serenade is on the program!!!!! It's also the first time Nana Linda will be seeing the Ballet since she's been in the NYCB Company. (Emily and Papa are taking Emma to the Little Mermaid).

A little Disney DDR to finish the day. Glenn got a perfect score with this new technique. This was the BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!
